Together.

Together was a multi-media exhibition curated by fynn studio in collaboration with the Modern Faces Collective, presenting over thirty works by emerging artists from the UK and USA. Opening in April 2021 at Square Gallery in Battersea, the exhibition responded to the challenges faced by art students during the COVID-19 pandemic—working without studios, materials, or in-person support.

Led by Slade students Shaqúelle Whyte and Lawrence Perry, the collective brought together a cross-disciplinary group of artists including Abigail McGinley, Tess McMillan, Larry Bush, and William Alan Harris. Their work ranged from painting and photography to film, sound and installation. Highlights included Whyte’s striking figurative canvases, Perry’s politically charged portraits, Bush’s hand-painted 16mm film, and McGinley’s Art Nouveau–inspired scenes of domestic drama.

The exhibition was accompanied by a specially commissioned track from Jimothy Lacoste and culminated in an immersive, interplanetary darkroom installation.

At its core, TOGETHER celebrated creativity under constraint—offering a powerful reflection on collaboration, resilience, and artistic momentum in uncertain times. It marked an important early moment in the careers of several rising voices and affirmed fynn studio’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent through community-led projects.
