Sweet Harmony.
Sweet Harmony: Rave | Today was an immersive exhibition celebrating the cultural legacy and social impact of UK rave, held at Saatchi Gallery in the Summer of 2019. The show explored the evolution of rave from underground movement to global phenomenon through photography, archive materials, video, and installation. Featured artists included Vinca Petersen, Dave Swindells, Seana Gavin, Seth Troxler, and Conrad Shawcross, each offering a personal lens on the energy, resistance, and community at the heart of rave culture.
The exhibition also featured large-scale immersive environments and concluded with headline DJ sets from Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim, transforming Saatchi Gallery into a full blown rave. It became the fourth most-visited UK exhibition of 2019, affirming the genre’s enduring cultural significance.
In December 2019, the exhibition travelled to Manchester, for Sweet Harmony Warehouse / Art Edit which was presented at Depot Mayfield for The Warehouse Project. Supported with Highsnobiety and size? , it brought the exhibition full circle - from gallery to dance floor, honouring rave not just as a memory, but as a living, breathing culture.
